As we shared yesterday, Foster Care is a temporary care for children who must be separated from their biological parents most often due to neglect or abuse.
In the State of Ohio, there are currently over 14,000 children in Foster Care.
There are 850 in Hamilton County alone.
Those numbers represent a lot of children navigating life without their parents. Even in the best of foster care situations, children can struggle with belonging and identity. Meaningful, long-term connection to an adult is crucial for succes in life. God knows that the ‘fatherless’ are vulnerable.
Yet I am always with you;
you hold me by my right hand.
You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will take me into glory.
Whom have I in heaven but you? Psalm 73:23-25
Prayer: Father, please let each child in foster care know you. Be near to them. We ask that you show your love and your presence to them. You are their true Father. God we pray for all the foster families, social workers, and other people in these children’s lives. Give them grace and strength today. Let the children know you are always with them, and you will be their guide. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
